I noticed your comment about being a coupon queen. I am newly married and have gone from a family of 4 to a family of 8. I could really use your help on how to coupon to save money. We are currently working on one income. So as you can imagine this is really hard for us. Any help that you can provide would be GREATLY appreciated. Websites, advice, whatever you have. Thank you soo much, Sara

best way is to search internet for coupons just by typing the word “coupons” in your search box – and to get sunday paper, check all supermarkets and c what is on sale and match a coupon to it. most supermarkes will double the coupon – and there are coupons in the sunday paper.

i see people are giving you advice on couponing. i work at a grocery store so i see people who do the extreme couponing thing and to be honest half there coupons dont go through..heres why. they are using to many coupons for the products they have. you can only use ONE coupon for that item unless the coupon say you have to buy two or more. watch for those free coupons some stores will not take free internet coupons or internet coupons over $10. my best advice for you is get a file folder(i do this), make sure each week you get the sunday paper, lots of coupons in there. only clip the coupons u really need dont clip the ones just for the hell of it bc if u have the coupon ull want to buy it jsut because you have it, sumtimes coupons dont dave u money make sure your comparing stores and brands, most coupons are for name brands sumtimes no name stuff is cheaper even with coupons. also every week i go on smartsource.com and couponmom.com and i clip the internet coupons i need then i file them by month and put them in order by date. some people use binders and see through sleeves thats up to you and how you wish to do it. next advice is make a list of stuff you need and STICK TO IT. most people just pick up whatever and that makes you spend more money then you need to. coupons are ment to help you save money not let you get 5cart loads for free, and to tell you a fact that extreme couponing show is coupon fraud. ive done alot of research on it and trust me. i hope this advice helps.

Britney,

Thank you for your honesty! You are absolutely correct about everything you said here! The only extreme coupons are done on TV and they are very fradulent to say the least.

lisa November 28, 2011 at 12:45 am

I was wondering about the show extreme couponing, I dvr’ed it every week but stopped because it was just getting to “planned” out I watched an episode recently and the couponer said the store stayed open 2 hours late so she could check out. HHHMMMM really?!

Sarah, go to Walmart and get holders for baseball card and some tabs that go at the end of dividers used to separate pages in binders. When you separate the sections write these words for each section: meat, frozens, bread, drinks, dairy, cereal, fruits/nuts, snacks, rice/pastas/potatoes, spices/sauces, body wash, oral, hair care, razors, laundry, and cleaning. The folder needs to be three inches if you decide to by one and a baseball card divider. You also need to buy two or three newspapers every Sunday. Watch for coupons that come in the mail. Try to buy items on sale and have coupons for them.

Do we need to download any program or need a coupon printer to print out these coupons? Or can we use a regular printer?

Reply

admin September 29, 2011 at 3:27 pm

You need to download the coupon printer to make the coupons compatible with printing on your own printer. It’s safe and 100% free.

we do the sunday paper thing and coupon mom. I enjoy indoor /outdoor gardening this is a huge saver. I also have a family that hunts. So my advice is befriend a hunter make a deal to pay for half of the expenses and eat lean meat for a year. You also don’t have to worry about your high priced, processed food making you sick. Further more, you support the beautiful land.

A few other things u can do is use grocery stores that give you reward credits for shopping there, with sales and coupons u can use your store credit to keep ur bill down, I also shop in bulk and once a month I shop for meats and stock it in a deep freezer. I make a list of which store has the best sale items so I dont over spend. Example I had coupons from the sunday paper plus online coupons,i also had $12. Store rewards and a 20% my total store coupon,my bill came out to
over $230. but after my coupons,i had buy one get one coupons and
the stored one get one free or 50 off,i got my bill down to just ove$100. so not only did I save over $100. I bought 4-6 months ofsupplies

Hello, My problem with couponing is that most of them are non food items. I’ve got a years supply of toothpast, razors, washing detergents, soap, shampoo, and so on. But very little food saved up. It’s the food situation I am worried about since we are retired and have so many medical bills due to me having a brain tumor and now ruptured discs in my back. I need FOOD!!! What are the best sites to accomplish this???!!!
Thanks! Wanda

to all who are trying to save money in these hard times, please use coupons as one way to save money. I save about 53% on my monthly groceries and even non food products. I only shop for sale items(stock up when on sale), i only use coupon items(exception may be my perishable product–meat, bread, etc) i shop at a store that gives gas points(for every dollar spent i get one point toward gas eg..100 pts give 10 cents a gallon off the price per gallon. i only shop the store’s special promotions where i get bonus gas points. my last month shopping gave me $2.20 off per gallon. i filled my car and instead of cosing $77..i only paid $36 for my gas ..plus i got tons of food and other items with using coupons. hang in there …there are a lot of ways to save. i am currently writing a book on saving in hard economic times.
